3D modelling, visualisation and engineering design for product development.

I turn a sketch or a requirement into finished 3D geometry – engineered on my own responsibility, agreed with you, and handed over in a form you can actually work with.

What I take on

3D modelling and CAD design

Parts and assemblies, built parametrically so they stay editable – from a sketch, from measurements taken off an existing part, or from CAD data you already have.

SOLIDWORKS · Blender

Photorealistic visualisation

Renderings of products that do not exist yet – for quotations, trade fairs, catalogues and internal decisions.

Blender

Product development

From the requirement through evaluated variants to production-ready geometry – including cases where no drawing exists yet.

Concept · Variants · Detailing

Data preparation and handover

Design data prepared so that manufacturing, suppliers and sales can work with it directly.

Manufacturing · Presentation · 3D printing

Animation and motion

Assembly sequences, operation and working principles as animation – where a still image cannot show how something works.

Process

How a project runs

You describe the goal – I make the engineering and design decisions and put them to you for approval.

  1. Briefing

What needs to be built, and what already exists. You get an estimate of the effort up front, as a fixed price if you prefer.

  2. Concept and engineering

I develop the solution myself – model structure, joining principle, and for visualisations the composition and lighting.

  3. Review

Intermediate results as views or test renders. Two revision rounds are included.

  4. Handover

Result data in the agreed formats. Source files are kept so changes remain possible later.

Projects

What I have worked on

Commissioned work for a manufacturer of water fittings and water treatment equipment, an ongoing project in medical technology, and one product development of my own. For the commissioned work I will name the clients and the products on request.

Corner of the Pleen raised bed: light wooden cladding with a dark capping rail whose nozzles spray water over tomatoes, salad and herbs.
Engineering · Product development

Pleen – fully automatic raised bed

A development of our own: a raised bed that waters its own plants. Water tank, pump, filter and soil sensors sit in the base unit, and an app guides the owner through the growing cycle.

Fitting family with cantilever arm

One fitting across several equipment levels: parametric models from which every variant can be derived.

Device for medical technology

Ongoing commission: engineering and visualisation of a medical device, plus animations showing assembly and operation.

The concept is currently in the patent application stage, so no image is shown yet. I will publish the rendering as soon as the client has released it. I am happy to show you work samples directly on request.

About

Briefly, about me

I am Lian Sessinghaus. I work from Wetter an der Ruhr in western Germany and have been freelancing as a 3D modeller and visualiser since 13 November 2025. Engineering is done in SOLIDWORKS, modelling and rendering in Blender. Projects run remotely across Europe.
